Dr. Alampur Saibaba Goud is the founder and chairman of the Devnar Foundation for the Blind. He is involved with many other different institutions working in the field of Opthalmology in Secunderabad. He currently also stands as the president of the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness that is located in Andhra Pradesh. He is also the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad.
Devnar Foundation for the Blind helps give visually impaired patients the ability to learn and train. This includes vocational training and also training for extracurricular activities such as sports, music and more.
Dr. Goud has been awarded various honours including the National Award Ph.D. from Osmania University, J. S. Mahashadba award from the All Indian Ophthalmological Society, Dr. K. R. Dutta award, E. V. Srinivasan award and also the prestigious Padma Shri in 2009. He also constructed a film that was based on glaucoma where he won another award from the All Indian Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Goud is an active chairman with many published works and books under his belt. He has contributed to many different articles in newspapers, journals and books and has also given interviews for television and radio.
